The Jazz Workshop relies on support from individuals, companies, foundations, and government. Income from tuition and admission fees covers only the bare essentials. Generous support from our community lets us do more for jazz in Nashville. Thanks to our many donors for making all this possible:

2010 ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

NJW's Annual Campaign provides essential funding for programs and operations, and is a way for the entire NJW Community to Grow Jazz. This year's Annual Campaign got under way in late April and is in full swing. --> Update: As of June 9 we were over half of the way toward this year's Annual Campaign goal of $20,000. On July 9, we're three fourths of the way to the goal! Thanks to the generous support of these donors (and some others who wish to remain anonymous) we're almost there. Support from the rest of the NJW community is needed to go the rest of the distance!

2009 ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

2009 was a hard year for the economy, and many of our donors had to contribute smaller amounts than in previous years. Fortunately, many of NJW's students, fans, and supporters stepped up to the plate. Thanks to many more small contributions and a record number of donors, the Annual Campaign met its goal of raising $15,000 toward the general support of the Workshop. These contributions go to match grant funds and permit the NJW to offer performances and community programs at reasonable or no cost. Thanks to our 2009 Annual Campaign contributors:

2008 campaigns:   Be a Key Player   Annual Campaign   Fall Fundraiser

BE A KEY PLAYER

Steinway PianoIn January 2008 the Workshop had an unexpected chance to purchase a 7-foot Steinway grand piano at a bargain price, to replace the piano we'd rented for several years. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but how to raise $31,000 in time to make the purchase? Donors rallied and became "key players," donating $361.36 for each key. In the space of a few weeks, the piano was paid for.

The first performance on the new piano was by Shelly Berg. Everyone who has played it marvels at its tone and touch. The piano completes the world-class sound in the Jazz Cave, and will be enjoyed by the jazz community for years to come. Thanks to our Key Players for making this possible:

2008 ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

Our annual campaign helps to support the Workshop all year long and helps us keep classes small, tuition and fees low, and provide special programs for the community. A special thanks to all of our contributors to the 2008 annual campaign:
