Renowned bassist and NJW Director Roger Spencer is a regular sideman on our Snap events, but he has never taken the stage of a Snap on 2&4 concert as the bandleader. That all changes on Friday, May 11 at 8pm! Originally from Terre Haute, Indiana, Roger has had an extensive musical career. He has performed, traveled and recorded with such artists as Les Brown and His Band of Renown, Harry James, Rosemary Clooney, Sam Butera, Tony Bennett, Ray Conniff, Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, Terry Gibbs, Buddy DeFranco and Carl Fontana, among many others. Roger moved to Nashville in 1988 with wife, Lori Mechem, and together they founded and direct the Nashville Jazz Workshop. Roger is also on the faculty at Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music. In addition to his teaching and recording work, Roger is a longtime member of the Beegie Adair trio. The band for the performance will include both Beegie Adair and Lori Mechem on piano, Denis Solee on saxophone, and Chris Brown on drums. The show is Friday, May 11 at 8PM.
