This is a listening class about the life of vocalist Nina Simone. Join vocalist, songwriter and social commentator Dara Starr Tucker as she shares music from the incomparable Nina Simone in a special listening course via Zoom. Dubbed, “the High Priestess of Soul,” Simone’s rendering of Black American Music combined the tributaries of gospel, blues, swing and classical with much needed activism. Nina’s artistry opened doors and paved the way for the next generation of singers and players. This course is just right for non-musicians and musicians alike.
