July 20 – 24 The Count Basie Orchestra is one of the most important bands in the history of jazz, with a hard-swinging rhythm section and precision ensemble playing. We’ll discuss the personnel, arrangers, recordings, and the most famous compositions of the band’s 50-year heyday.
