Study and perform over 24 original compositions by Antonio Carlos Jobim, a Brazilian songwriter, composer, arranger, singer, and pianist/guitarist. Jobim, a primary force behind the creation of the bossa nova style, is best known for “The Girl from Ipanema,” one of the most recorded songs of all time. Other songs include “Desafinado,” “Corcovado,” “Meditation,” “How Insensitive,” and “Favela.” In this class, you will learn Portuguese lyrics as well as English translations and will perform at the end of the 12-week session.
