George Shearing Ensemble

Classic Jazz Artists, Instrumental Ensemble

Study and perform the repertoire and the “Shearing Sound.” This class will emphasize ensemble playing, block chord voicings for piano, and transcriptions. Students will explore tunes including “Lullaby of Birdland,” “Consternation,” “East of the Sun,” “Autumn Serenade,” and more.

For piano, bass, drums, guitar, and vibes.

Intermediate to Advanced level suggested.
