Study and sing famous compositions by Harold Arlen, who wrote some of the greatest hits from the 30’s and 40’s. This includes the entire score to the classic movie “The Wizard of Oz.” Other Arlen songs include “Come Rain or Come Shine,” “As Long As I Live,” “Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea,” “Blues in the Night,” “Let’s Fall in Love,” “Stormy Weather,” “It’s Only a Paper Moon,” and “I’ve Got the World on a String, just to name a few. In this online interactive class, students will focus on correct melodies, phrasing, lyric content, stylistic considerations, arrangements, and song forms that apply to Arlen’s music.
