A previously-unreleased video of a concert performed in 2014 as part of the Nashville Jazz Workshop’s Jazz on the Move series.

Art Blakey was a groundbreaking American drummer and a giant figure in the history of Jazz. In this installment of the Nashville Jazz Workshop’s acclaimed instructional performance series “Jazz On The Move,” drummer Marcus Finnie and his group discussed Blakey and performed selections from his catalog of famous recordings (only the music is presented here).¬† Featuring the bandleader Marcus Finnie on drums, with Doug Mosher (saxophone), Jim Williamson (trumpet), Hamilton Hardin (piano), and John Birdsong (bass). ¬†Presented live at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville, TN.
