GARY BRUMBURGH:  Following a two-decade-long Los Angeles film, TV and musical theatre career, vocalist Gary Brumburgh switched gears and turned exclusively to jazz in the 2000s, mentoring with singer/teacher Ellen Johnson, a protegee of the legendary Sheila Jordan.  He went on to showcase at the city’s prime jazz clubs including the celebrated Catalina Bar &Grill, Gardenia and Upstairs at Vitello’s.

Gary’s first jazz CD, Up Jumped Spring, was released in 2007.  His second, Moonlight (2017), featured the iconic father-and-son pairing of pianists Terry and Jamieson Trotter and received nationwide airplay where it remained on the Jazz Week charts for 18 weeks while playing on such stations as L.A’s KJAZZ-FM 88.1 and others throughout the country. A two-time cancer survivor, he also produced two Jazz vs. Cancer concerts which guested such jazz greats as Tierney Sutton and Cheryl Bentyne from the Manhattan Transfer.  Beatles music consumed his entire teen years which led to the 2017 showcase of Beatlejazz: The Early Years: 1962-1966 which focused on fresh, imaginative jazz spins of “Fab Four” classics.  Beatlejazz: The Later Years made its  debut last Christmas.

Transplanting to Nashville in 2018, Gary hosts the Nashville Jazz Jam featuring Ted Wilson on keys and guest singers/musicians every Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 at Christ Lutheran Church.  In 2022, he released his third jazz CD, Full Circle. Hitting the Jazz Week charts for 16 weeks, the album features innovative reworkings of songs from such musical shows as Cabaret, South Pacific, Company and Oklahoma that he appeared in while an actor.  His music has been featured on Nashville’s only jazz station WFSK-FM 88.1.
