Hummingbird Happy Hour – An Evening Of Jazz And Art For The Birds
Hummingbirds are a big deal in Warner Parks. The Nature Center is one of only a few places in the country where observers can watch hummingbird banding in action! Bird research has been ongoing here since naturalist Amelia Laskey began her bluebird nesting box program in 1936.
This ticketed event takes place each year at the height of Hummingbird season in early September at the Warner Park Nature Center. Proceeds from ticket and art sales support the Bird Information, Research and Data (B.I.R.D) programs, keeping these programs free and available for schools, families and Park visitors.
Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served while guests mingle, watch hummingbirds at the feeders and enjoy an art exhibit by the very talented Lexie Armstrong.
Later in the evening an intimate jazz concert on the patio behind the nature center featuring the well-known local jazz duet Annie Sellick and her husband, Pat Bergeson.
We hope you’ll join us on September 5th and support the Birds!
