JAZZMANIA 2020

SPECIAL NOTE: Jazzmania will be a virtual celebration this year due to the pandemic. Watch this space for more details about what promises to be a fabulous event in celebration of NJW’s 20th anniversary. You won’t want to miss it!!

Jazzmania is the NJW’s annual jazz party and fundraiser. As a live event it has been “the jazz party of the year” and one of the city’s most engaging and fun charity events. As with other charity events, the event is moving online this year as a virtual event.

On October 24, 2020 the Workshop will host Jazzmania, an online jazz party and evening of world class jazz performances. We will share our love of jazz, celebrate the Workshop’s 20th anniversary, and ask our devoted fans to open their hearts and wallets to support the Workshop. The concert will be promoted to a global audience to build awareness of the NJW and engage with jazz fans around the world. Beginning October 25, the recorded event will be available to stream on-demand for 60 days. Proceeds from the event will support the NJW’s Music Education, Performance Series and Community Outreach.

The 90-minute streaming Jazzmania 2020 program will be hosted by renowned Memphis saxophonist Kirk Whalum and will feature an all-star lineup of jazz artists – including Kandace Springs, Victor Wooten, Rachael and Vilray (Rachael Price of Lake Street Dive), Beegie Adair, Keb’ Mo’, Peter Bernstein, Champian Fulton, Jeff Hamilton, Donna McElroy, Chester Thompson, Rod McGaha, Rufus Reid, and Choro Das Tres. Rachael Price and Kandace Springs are both former NJW students.

Jazzmania is free to attend this year. REGISTER NOW – we’ll send you occasional updates about the event and will send you a link on the morning of the show!

In lieu of buying a ticket we’re asking patrons to donate generously to support the  music education, performance, and community outreach programs of the Jazz Workshop!
