The Big Payback 2021

Calling all Nashville Jazz Workshop friends and supporters! The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s Big Payback Event is just around the corner. Starting Wednesday, May 5 at 6pm, you’ll have 24 hours to show how much you value the work of NJW and its contribution to the musical life of our community.

Here’s how it works: from 6pm Wednesday, May 5 to 6pm Thursday, May 6, visit NJW’s page on the Big Payback Site and make on online gift to support great jazz in our community. Any amount, large or small, is welcome.

This year there are more reasons than ever to support the Nashville Jazz Workshop:

We’re about to move into a new facility on Buchanan Street in North Nashville. Besides the extraordinary expense of moving and adapting the space, we’re launching several new programs to engage families and our new neighborhood!

As we prepare for the return of in-person classes and performances, we also plan to continue the online classes and streaming performances that have kept so many people involved with great jazz during the pandemic.

The Nashville Jazz Workshop has participated in this event for several years and we have been gratified to receive gifts from so many of our loyal patrons and new friends.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Make an online gift to the NJW on May 5-6 by visiting
  • Spread the word to your friends and associates, share the link, and encourage them to give in support of local jazz.

IMPORTANT: The Big Payback offers special incentives for the most dollars raised during several time periods during the day. Last year, thanks to your generous response, we received an additional prize from the Community Foundation for raising the most money during the lunch hour.

We’re again targeting the lunch hour, 11am to 1pm on Thursday, May 6 for the most donors and the largest donation amount. So please be ready to give during that time period and spread the word to your friends and fellow lovers of music and music eduction.

With your help, we can raise much-needed funds for the NJW – thank you!
